And now you can log in any time using your email address and password!
From the Upload screen simply click on the box and select one or more master videos, or just drag and drop them to the box (on an iPhone you will be able to access your camera roll):
As soon as you do this the Uploader kicks in. You can let this run in its window, or even navigate to other pages on the vid\coding> system. If you close or leave the system you can repeat the selection and the upload will pick up from where you left off. Same goes for a dropped connection.
And that’s it! vid\coding> will now work its magic in booting up encode processes in the cloud, undertaking QA on your video, analysing your video for optimal quality and encoding it into all the profiles on your account. (By default we encode to five profiles: 1080p, 720p, 360p, 180p and audio only – if you want to add other profiles please just drop us a line).
As soon as the encode is complete you can view your clips by clicking on ‘View’:
By default the system will take the master video’s file name and enter a Title, Description and keyword. However, by clicking on the pencil symbol as the upload and encode are happening you can edit these:
Just click Save Changes when you’re done.
Viewing Your Clips
Once you’ve completed encoding you can view your clips in two places:
- Under Programs you will see the clips in an adaptive player that will automatically select the best bandwidth for the viewer
- Under Videos you can see the individual Video encodes (there will also be a thumbnail Image and Audio file generated by default)
There’s a whole bunch of things you can now do with your content.
Edit Metadata – allows you to edit the Title, Description and Keywords and add other fields: this will affect all underlying assets
Delete – you can delete your Program
Playback – you can play your video in an adaptive player
View Assets – gives you a list of the assets associated with the Program, you can then click to access them

Detailed User’s Guide
There are two places you can edit metadata: at Program or Video level. If you edit at Program level it will affect all the underlying videos and this is what we recommend that you do.
Click on the Edit symbol:
Then edit the fields:
Further down the page click Update:
If you wish to edit the metadata for an individual video, then follow this process by clicking on the Edit symbol on a Video tile.
To delete a Program or Video simply click on the dustbin symbol:
Confirm that you want to delete and the Program or Video will be removed.
You can play either an adaptive player from the Program tile, or, to view a specific clip, click on the individual video play symbol:
A Program by default will have four videos, a thumbnail image and an audio track associated with it. If you have custom profiles you may have more assets than this. You can view these by clicking on the asset symbol from a Program tile:
If you then click on the asset you will see the details for that asset:
Creating an Embedded Player
There are two ways of creating embeds in vid\coding>. You can embed all your clips in an adaptive player, or a specific video. In both cases click on the Embed (jigsaw) symbol:
This will pop up a box. Enter the width and height for your player, select a skin and this will automatically generate the player code:
Simply cut and paste the code to place the player on a website, blog, or social media outlet.
You can follow the same process for creating an embed for a single video by clicking on the Embed symbol on that video’s tile.
You can add comments on the timeline of a video by using the VidNotes utility. Click on the Comments (speech bubble) icon:
This will load the VidNotes interface. Play the video, then pause it where you want to leave a comment. Enter the text and then click +Add:
To find a specific frame use the red and blue nudge buttons. Click Save when you have added your comments.
You can jump to the point on the timeline by clicking on the comment. Delete a comment by clicking on the trash button.
